Pregnancy, Birth, and Beyond

Laura Murtha

I began my career with my RN License from Aria Health School of Nursing in 2008. I followed that up by earning my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree from Penn State University in 2012.  Along my nursing journey I have worked as an Emergency Room RN, School RN, and most recently I have worked as a nurse for a Home Birth Midwifery practice.

Certified Childbirth Educator

As a Certified Childbirth Educator I teach a wide array of prenatal, newborn, and parenting classes for Doylestown Hospital, Maternity Care Coalition, as well as in the private setting.

As a Labor Doula I offer prenatal, birth, and postpartum support services to my clients. I truly have a passion for birth work: loving, caring for, and fully supporting women throughout their journey of pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Mama.Bear.Baby.Tribe Group

I am currently embarking on a very exciting educational endeavor to obtain my certification in Prenatal and Postpartum Mental Health.  I care deeply for new mothers and feel very strongly about their need to be cared for and supported along this journey both prenatally and postpartum. I am driven to be protective over new mothers in their  postpartum period and have a desire to hold space for them and allow them the ability to adjust to the new changes they are experiencing.

All of the above is the driving force behind my creation of the Mama.Bear.Baby.Tribe. This will be a new mothers group open to all prenatal and postpartum moms in search of a community tribe of other mamas who can relate, support, encourage, and love

With my background in health and birth work and my current ongoing education in mental health, I will be hosting the group meetings weekly to aid in providing the loving, supportive, and educational environment new mamas need and deserve.
